Daily Nanny / Live Out Nanny

Find a Daily Nanny:

  • A Kindred Daily Nanny lives in their own home and will care for your children on a daily basis. Daily Nannies have previous formal childcare experience and will usually come from either a Nannying, Teaching, Nursing or other childcare background.

Daily Nannies work full days - A typical Daily Nanny role consists of an 8-10hr day, either Full time (4-5 days a week) or Part time (1-3 days a week).

A Daily Nanny is often available for babysitting upon request and some families will even include a night in the agreed hours when completing a contract.

  • Over and above keeping your children safe and happy at all times, a Nanny role incorporates ‘Nanny Duties’. This includes anything child related, both admin or household-wise.

    Meal planning and cooking

Organising activities, playdates, appointments and extracurricular classes.

    Supervision of homework.

Taxiing to and from activities and appointments.

    Children’s laundry

    Nursery/Bedroom/Playroom upkeep.

In addition to this, some families might agree extra duties with their Nanny. You might like your Nanny to cook the evening meal for the whole family rather than just the children. Or perhaps you have a dog you’d like your nanny to walk. Some families require PA type duties or extra housekeeping. These additions should be thought of as ‘extra duties’ and it’s important to understand that not all Nannies will be willing/able or interested in taking them on. But if this is what your family need, then as long as you clearly outline the extras and include it in your job description from the start, our consultants will do their very best to find you a pool of candidates willing to go the extra mile.

  • Daily Nannies are paid hourly and the current market rates for a Daily Nanny in London ranges between £19 and £25 gross per hour.

The main things for you to consider when working out an appropriate salary are:

    • The level of responsibility required in the role

    • The number of children being looked after

    • The ages of your children

    • The level of experience/qualifications you require your Nanny to have

    • Any ‘extra’ duties you require

It’s good to discuss and agree a salary ‘range’ with your Consultant when you start your search.

We usually don’t advertise the absolute top of your range unless you want us to, but it’s good for us to know what movement there is when we are matching your role.

  • Kindred Family Assistants are also ‘live out’ Nannies who are either more Junior or are looking for a more flexible daily arrangement.

Family Assistants will work flexible hours throughout the year; typically part time in term time and full time in the school holidays.
A Family Assistant is a good option for school aged children.
